His father was ahighly respeaed Qur'anic Malam in the courts of the Nobility. Even though history records that his admission into an elementary school was the direa influence of his father, his advancement in school was most definitely due to his personal ability and effort. He was taken into the Bida N.A.asa Councillor in chargeof Distria Administration and Education. What no doubt helpedyoung Aliyu up the ladder of his career were the timely courses he attended in the United Kingdom during the course of his working life. First in 1945, he was in the United Kingdom for the Local Government course; then later, he went back for the African Conference. Aliyu was in the United Kingdom again in 1952 this time for the UK Cambridge Conference on Education.
