Hon. Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Lugga was born on 17th April, 1949, in Gusau, Sokoto State. He is one of the fourteen children of Alhaji Muhammadu Tunbido of Lugga in Gusau Sokoto State — a trader and farmer, and Hajiya Hawwa Yarkala — Gusau, a housewife, who had eleven children. Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Lugga started his elementary education Gusau Township Primary School from 1958 to 1965. He attended the College of Arts Studies, Sokoto from 1966 to 1970. In 1973 he got his Teacher's Grade II Cer tificate of Education. He worked at the Northern States Marketing Board as clerk Grade II and was promoted clerk Grade I on 22pd October, 1974. He was promoted A.E.O. (Admin.) NSMB on 1st August, 1975. On 7th September, 1976 he was promoted Area Development Project Officer. Hon. Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Lugga has two wives and three children. He has travelled very widely. Among the places visited are Egypt and Niger Republic. Football is one of his hobbies. He is a member of the National Party of Nigeria representing Gusau Constituency, Sokoto State, in the House of Representatives.
