SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENTOF THE FEDERATION 1993-1995 Alhaji Aminu Salab was born on the 6th of November 1933 in Azare of the old Bauchi province, He had has primary education at home from 1941 to 1944 and later attended the Bauchi Middle School from 1944 to 1949. He was ako as tudent of the Institute of Administration,ABU Zaria from 1951 to 1956. Later he was an evening studentof the University of Lagosfrom 1963 to 1967andako didapostgraduate coursein the University of Windscoth USA in 1963. Aminu Sakh was acivil servant throughouthis working life. He rose steadily in his earnerand overtheyears gatheredexperience in differentadministrative andofficialcapacities. The climax of his carrierstartedin 1969 when he wasappointedDeputyPermanentSecretay in theFederalMinistry of Finance. In 1971, he movedto theMinistry of Communication in the same capacity. He remainedthere till 1979 when he waspromotedPermanentSecretayandpostedto theFederalMinistryof TradeandlaterDefence till1984. Whik in service he served in different capacities on the Boards of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NEPA, Railway Corporation, Nigeria CoalCorporation, Port-harcourtoilrefinery, University of Lagos andthe University of Ibadan. x Though he retired after thirtyfiveyean of dedicated service to his nation, his services were recalkd about nine years laterwhen he was appointed into the TransitionalCouncilof the GeneralBabangida administration. The Council was inaugurated inJanuary 1993. Though the Council itself wound upprematurely, Aminu's competent services were soughtonceagain by the endof thatyear 1993 when he wasappointedthe Secretayto theFederalGovernmentof General SaniAbacha. Hewas inthatposition till1995. Heiscurrently the Sarkin Yakin Katagun.
