He was the Northern Representative of the National Councilof the Red Cross, agood horseman and cricketer. After the coup of 1966 that terminated their government andfollowing the creation of States,Alhaji Ibrahim Tako was named the North Western State Commissionerfor Health and Social Services in 1968 a position he served with deligence and sense of responsibilitytill1975 when the government was sacked ina coup d'tatthatyear. He died on the 19thofJuly 1979.
