wasborn in 1946 in Mairari, Geidam Local' Government Area. Alhaji Tijani started his educational career at Geidam Elementary School from 1953-57 and later proceeded to Yerwa Senior Primary School from 1969-70 and finally ended up at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from 1973-76. A teacher by profession, Alhaji Tijani holds Higher Islamic Teachers Certificate as well as diploma in Sharia and Civil Law. Before his appointment as Borno State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Tijani had held various posts and worked in some educational institutions in the state. In March, 1962, ne was appointed school Tea cher in Hausari Primary School He was later transfered to Gudumbali Primary School the same year. He also served as a teacher at Shehu Garbai Primary School between 1972 and 1973. In 1976, Alhaji Tijani was ap pointed Assistant Registrar, Gwange Area Court and in 1977, he was elec ted as the Chairman, Geidam Local Government, the post he held until his recent appointment as Commissioner for Agriculture on October 5th, 1979. Alhaji Tijani Sale has published 'Tales and Literature' as well as some Islamic books in Kanuri. He is married with eight children five sons and three daughters, and his hobbies are Islamic studies and farm ing.
