MHA: PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT He was born in theyear 1923 in Abaji of the old Kabba Province. He went to Okene Elementary School and Kabba ProvincialMiddle School before trainingprofessionally at the Bauchi Elementary Teachers Training Centre and the Institute ofAdministration (A.B.U) Zaria. He worked variously as aTeacher and Headmaster in Primary Schools in the area namely, Kupa, Kakanda, Eggan, Girinya and Koton Karfi. He also worked in the Kwara NA Council, on the Discipline and Appointment Committee and also in the Koton KarfeNABoard of Survey. On thepoliticalfront, he was amember of thepopularNorthem People Congress and contested election under theparty into the Northern House of Assembly representing Kwara in 1961. He was appointed parliamentary Secretary to the Ministryfor Local Government in the sameyear. Alhaji Usman Suleiman like others wasforced out ofpolitics and Government after the bloody 1966 coup, which claimed the lives of some very important Nigerians. In the second Republic, he was amember of the National Party of Nigeria and rose to became its Zonal Vice Chairman. He died in 1993.
