(Hons. Lond) degrees; called to the Bar, Grays Inn London, 1956; was assistant master, Govern ment College Umuahia, 1937-38; assistant lecturer Chemistry, Higher College Yaba, 1939-42; Science Master, King's College Lagos, 1943; Science Master Government College, Ibadan, 1944-45; research assistant and lecturer in anthropology, University College, London, 1949-51; Member Eastern House of Assembly 1951-53, and House of Representa tives 1953-54; served as Central Minister of Lands, Survey and Local Development, 1952-53, Minister of Mines and Power, 1953, private law practice 1954-67, was Secretary National Universities Commission Lagos 1964-67, appointed Federal Commissioner for Trade, June 1967 — September 1968 under Gowon's government and Commissioner for External Affairs September 1968July 1975.
