She is particularly disturbed by ihe growing urban and environmental pollution of her home town, Onitsha. Educational Career She had a privileged primary and secondary education which did not spoil her but rather laid a strong foundation on which she built and rose high in social circles that challenged her lo begin a life ofcrusade to offer similar opportunity to all others in the country. She saw her opportunity as a challenge to fight for similar privileges for others. She attended the following institutions • University of Nigeria Nsukka for her Legal Studies andgraduated LLB lions Nigerian Law School Lagos for B.L. Called to Barand went into private legal practice as Solicitor andAdvocate ofthe Supreme Courtof Nigeria. She had a successful and busy practice as clients sought her services for her iniegrity and brilliant performance at the Bar. Her honesty and lucid logical presentation ofher cases won the admiration ofJudges and Magistrates and her colleagues at the Bar Political Career In spite ofsuccessful legal practice, Hon Barrister Balonwu went into Politics and was elected Senator into the Government that was short lived under the Abacha Administration. She registered with the Peoples Democratic Party in 1999 and was appointed the Commissioner for Education in 1999. Elected the Member of Federal House of Representatives forOnitsha North/South Federal Constituency in 2003. She believes in honesty and cleanliness oflife and character. She has avery strong family attachment with her husband and three children in spite ofher hectic public life. She has a lot ofencouragement to the upcoming Igbo Youths as people to build up lor the future ofthe Nation.
