Evon Benson-Idahosa is a trained English Barrister and an American lawyer who worked as a partner in a national defense law firm in New York for over a decade before venturing full time into activism on behalf of women and girls. Ms. Benson-Idahosa is the founder and Executive Director of Pathfinders Justice Initiative, Inc., an NGO which seeks to eradicate sex trafficking and the exploitation of women and girls in the developing world, particularly in her home country of Nigeria. She is a leading expert on the subject of modern day slavery in sub-Saharan Africa and a published writer and speaker whose voice amplifies the voices of thousands of young women and girls via Pathfinders’ campaigns, including its #Not4Sale campaign, which has assisted hundreds of survivors of sex trafficking and rape in Nigeria. She also serves as a trainer/facilitator and lends her expertise as an consultant to organizations and state and national governments on the issues of sex trafficking and gender based violence. As an Activist, Ms. Benson-Idahosa has appeared on multiple radio and television news outlets, including CNN, CNNi, BBC, Al Jazeera, CCTV-America, NBC and Sirius XM Radio, and has been named one of New York’s New Abolitionists (www.newyorksnewabolitionists.com). Through her Foundation, Ms. Benson-Idahosa advocates for the return of the missing Chibok Girls of Nigeria and other gender related causes.
