In October 2012 Nigeria hosted the first Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation international taekwondo championship to further the foundation’s mission of producing world-class taekwondo practitioners from West Africa by combating “the lack of constant exposure to world class tournaments, training camps, equipment and training methodologies”.
