National Party of Nigeria, Senator for Bauchi South Alhaji Ibrahim Dimis, born in Bakin Dutse, Bauchi State, Alkalcri Local Government Area, Duguri District, in side Yankari Game Reserve, some few kilometres West of the Wikki Warmspring; privately educated; emerged through self-sacrifice and devotion. His mother died when he was 6 years while his father died and left him at the age of 9. Worked and left the then Bauchi Native Authority Veterinary Department as its Accountant in Charge in 1956 where he was brought from the then Bauchi/Dass Native Treasury as an Assistant Cashier in 1955. Soon left for active politics, foun ded the banned Habe Peoples Party and later Habe Fulani Peoples Party and was its 1st President. Founder and Preisdent of the United Nigerian Indi genous Traders Union; Indigenous Company of Northern Nigeria Limi ted; Northern Indigenous Company; Originator and founder of the Nigerian Chamber of Indigenous Contractors in 1968 and its Secretary-General to date. One of the brains behind the indigenisation struggle initiated from the Northen partys of the country smce 1961, organized the "Nigerian Chamber of Indigenous Contractors" in order to champion the cause of a speedy indigenization of the country's economy without necessarily disrupt ing the normal flow of international trading in the country. He was in the teams to the Nigerian Constitutional Conference on the tic ket of the banned Action Group in London in 1958. He has travelled widely throughout the world including Britain, U.S.S.R., U.S.A., Chairman of the IBRAHIM DIMIS (NIG.) LTD. (I.D.L.) and State Secretary of the N.P.N. Bauchi State. Married with eleven children. Hob bies: farming, and reading, watching of television and newspaper reading Dafinone, D.O., National Party of Nigeria Senator, representing Bendel South constituency, is an Economist, Administrator and Chartered Accoun tant; aged 52, was born at Sapele in Bendel State to an ancestral family who founded the Kingdom of Okpein the 15th century; had his elementary and secondary education at Benin Government School, Edo College and the Abeokuta Grammar School bet•9 ween 1934 and 1945; joined the Civil Service at Kaduna in what was -then the Northern Secretariat in 1946, and as a reward for hard work was offered a a Scholarship to study Public Admini stration at the University of Exeter from 1951 to 1953; obtained in the process a Diploma in Public Admini stration; also attended the University of Hull where as an External Student obtained the Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics of the University of London in 1958; thereafter, entered articles with a firm of Chartered Accountants in the City of London; qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1962; became a fellow of the English Institute in 1970; for the past 15 years established a firm of Chartered Accountants considered as the 5th largest in Nigeria; served the Federal Government for eight years in various capacities, including the following: Commissioner to investigate the assets of public officers in Midwest State in 1967 and 1968; Arbitrator of the Federal Government under the Ports Amendment Decree in 1969; Appoin ted as one of the three Commissioners by the Federal Government on the Apapa Road Project Tribunal in 1970; Appointed Sole Commissioner by the Federal Government to investigate the affairs of the Nigerian Pools Company in 1971; Appointed as a Consultant by the Federal Government to ascertain the compensation payable to Gulf Oil Company Nigeria Limited, Mobil Pro ducing Company and Shell Nigeria Limited on Government acquisition in 1975-1976; in the private sector, has held over 12 directorships of Private and Public Companies from 1971 to date excluding of course the Director ship of the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Government appointee between 1971 and 1975; Married with five children.
