Ini Edo is an Ibibio who comes from Akwa Ibom State in the south southern part of Nigeria also known as Coastal Southeastern Nigeria. She was born on the 23rd of April, 1982, and is the second child of four children to her mother who was a teacher, and her father a church elder. The 38-year-old actress started her career in acting at age 18 in 2000 and has since remained relevant in the Nollywood Film industry. Ini attended her secondary education at the Cornelius Connely College in Calabar. And continued her studies with a Diploma course in Theatre Arts at the University of Uyo and went further to the University of Calabar where she completed her bachelor’s degree program in English. And later in 2014 Ini Edo got a scholarship to study law at the National Open University of Nigeria. The well-known actress starred in her debut film Thick Madame in 2003 and since then has become a household name and was appointed in 2016 as the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture And Tourism. Ini Edo in 2008 got married to an American-based businessman Philp Ehiagwina and divorced later in September 2014. In 2008, Ini Edo married Philip Ehiagwina an American-based business man. The marriage ended in September 2014 after six years. She was GLO brand ambassador for ten years from 2006 to 2016.[12] In 2010 she was named to be the brand ambassador of Noble Hair.[13] Ini Edo is brand ambassador of Slim Tea Nigeria.[14] In 2019 she was signed as an ambassador for the @MrTaxi_NG brand, Ini Edo was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture And Tourism by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel in 2016
