HASHIM, Mallam Mohammed Adaji

FEDERAL PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY LAGOS AFFAIRS Hashim Adaji was bom in Dekinaof the old Kabba province in 1927. He attended the Dekina Elementary Schoolfrom 1936 to 1939 and Okene Provincial Schoolfrom 1940 to 1944, before joining the Native Administration System as NA. Councilor Idah and chairman Ankpa Distria Council. From 1945 to 1948 he was the NA.. Dispenser andjoined the Nigerian Railway Corporation as Station Staff from 1948 to 1954. In 1954, he was already a memberof theNorthern Peoples Congress NPCunder which he won election in the Federal House of Representatives representing Igala North thatyear. He was later appointed Parliamentary Secretary Federal Ministry of Lagos Affairs the position he held before their government wasforcefully sacked in a bloody coup that claimed the livesof mostof the importantpoliticians. After the 1966 coup, and having established a strong link with the grass roots, Hashim Adajifound himself as the defaao overall political adviser of his people. It was probablyfor this reason that he become Chairman Benue State Prerogative of Mercy Committee andplayed advisory roles on thepolitical landscape.
