PAIKO, Hon. Alhaji Yinusa

Hon. Alhaji Yinusa Paiko is a representative of Minna South Constituency of Niger State. He was elected into the House of Represen tatives in the 1979 general elections which ushered in the new civilian administration. He belongs to the National Party of Nigeria. Born on 15th March, 1942 in Paiko, Niger State, Alhaji Yinusa Paiko started his educa tional career as a brilliant boy. This brillance is illustrated by the rapidity with which he corncourse in 1965, he came out with flying colours - a good second Class Degree in LL.B. That is pleted his elementary and higher education. He spent only three years in Minna Elementary School between 1948 and 1951. Again he was a pupil at Bida Middle School for another brief spell of two years which ended in 1953. He completed his secondary education at Bida Secondary School between 1954 and 1959 with a grade one West African School Certificate. He did his Higher School Certificate studies at King's College, Lagos between 1960 and 1961 and very successfully too. The history of Hon. Alhaji Yinusa Paiko's higher education is equally pleasant to read. He was admitted to the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1962 to read Law. At the end of his not all. He proceeded to the Harvard Law School in 1966 and by 1967 obtained an LL.M. Harvard Degree in Law. Quite apart from these chains of brilliant accomplishments, Hon. Yinusa Paiko also holds a certificate of Council of Legal Education to his credit. Alawyer by profession and politician by call ing Hon. Yinusa was in private legal practice for'four years between 1968 and 1971. He later became legal adviser to the Northern States Marketing Board. He was in this position until 1973 when he was appointed the Secretary and Legal adviser to the Nigerian National Oil Corporation, a duty which he so brilliantly and meticulously per formed. He was also a member of the Consti tuent Assembly, a .body which amended and ratified the Draft Constitution prepared by the Constitution Drafting Committee C.D.C., bet ween 1977 and 1978. Married to Fatimah in March, 1975, Hon. Yinusa Paiko is blessed with six children. He has travelled to the United Kingdom, U S.A., France, Germany, Iran and Yugoslavia. His hobbies include reading, table tennis, chess and swimming. His father, Malam Abubakar was an Alkali and he had.Six'children. His mother is Malama Kande.
