Hon. Amos Sunday was born in 1943 at Dunme, Yola in Gongola State and represents the Song Constituency, Gongola State, in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party. His father, Mr. Gbogo, a farmer died when he was two years old; he was therefore brought up by his mother, Mrs. Adorakure Gbogo. Hon. Amos Sunday started his early elemen tary school at the Dunne S.U.M. Primary School from 1953 to 1955. He attended the Jimeta Junior Primary School in 1956 and the Yola Boarding Senior Primary School from 1957 to 1959. He went to the Teacher Training College in Mubi from 1960 to 1962 for his Grade III Teachers Certificate and the Gombe Teacher's College from 1972 for the Grade II Teachers Certificate. After years of teaching, Hon. Sun day left for the University of Bristol School of Education, England, in 1977 where he obtained his Advanced Certificate in Education. Hon. Sunday's teaching career took him to a number of schools. He taught for a year in 1963 at Dirma Primary School From 1964 to 1977 (except for the period when he went back to school for further studies), he worked as head master at various schools in Gongola State. On his return from Bristol in July 1978, he became the Assistant Inspector of Education, Gombe Local Government Area and served in that capacity until January 1979. Hon. Sunday is married and has seven sons and two daughters. He is a christian. His hob bies are farming and hunting. He has travelled to Britain for further studies and has also been to the Cameroun Republic, Western Germany and the U.S.A.
