Born at ZakiBiam, his home town, in 1940, Hon. B. A. Chaha attended the DRCM School at Zaki Biam where he completed primary education from 1945to 1949. He did Middle one and two at the DRCM Middle School, Mkar, from 1950 to 1951 after which he attended the Sum Teachers College, Mkar from 1952 to 1954 where he obtained Grade III Teachers' Certificate. After Teaching at the Sum Primary School, Zaki Biam, from 1955 to 1956, he entered the Higher Teachers' College, Gindiri in 1957 and obtained in 1958 the Grade II Teachers' Certificate. On the completion of this course, Hon. B. A. Chaha was seconded for one year to teach at the Sum Girls' School, Gindiri in 1959. The following year he was posted back to the Sum Demonstration School, Mkar. In 1962 he was appointed the Headmaster of the Sum School, Gboko, a post he held till June 1970. FromJuly to December, 1970 he headed the NKST Transferred School, Gyemwase and was, later posted to the NKST Transferred School, Zaki- Biam, as the Headteacher of the institution in 1971. In 1972, he attended the Headmasters' In stitute, Benin City from where he obtained his Diploma in Education as (external candidate) j1 from the University of Ibadan. From 1973 to October, 1976 Honourable Chaha was again posted to NKST-Local School Boare, Zaki-Biam. Later, he was appointed the Education Supervisor for Katsina Ala Local Government Education Authority from November 1976 to March 1978. In April, 1978 he was appointed Education Officer (Adminstration) under the same management, a post he held until he withdrew his service for politics.
