Honourable Chief Olufemi Olasupo Akinwale was born on the 31st of March 1938 at his hometown Owobale in the Lagelu Local Government Area. He is a christian by religion and one of the seven children of his parents Mr. John Akin wale, a farmer and Madam Sarah Adekemi. Chief Akinwale has two wives and five children. He attended the following educational institutions: S. D. A. Mission School, Owobale, Lagelu South (1947-1954); S. D. A. Secondary School, Erunmu, Lagelu South (1955-1958); S. D. A. Mission Hospital, lle-lfe (1959-1962); Hackney Technical College, Lon don, (1962-1968); Borough Polytechnic, Lon don, (1968-1970). His educational and professional qualifica tions include: Primary School Leaving Cer tificate (1954); Secondary School Certificate (1958); Generalising Certificate (1961); Final City & Guild Certificate (1968); Fufl Technology Certificate Electrical Engineering (1969); H.N.C. Electrical Engineering (1970); A.M.I.E. London (1970) and T. Eng. (C.E.I.) London. Chief Olasupo Akinwale was a Production Engineer/Manager with the Nigerian Bottling Company. Ibadan from 1971 to 1973. Hework ed as an Electrical Officer with the Western Nigeria Water Corporation, Ibadan from 1973 to 1975, and was the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, lyanna Offa, Lagelu Ibadan from 1976 to 1979. Chief Akinwale served as a member of the Management Committee of the Ibadan Local Government from 1973 - 1975 and Chairman of the Oyo Health Board from 1975 to 1978. Chief Akinwale also served as a member of the Ajoda New Town Development Authority from 1976 to 1979 and the Board of Governors, Idi Ito High School Erunmu, Oyo State, from 1972 to 1979. He was made the Ikolaba Maiyegun of Ibadan by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba D. T. Akinbiyi in November 1978. Chief Akinwale has visited Britain where he studied and other countries. He takes interest in reading, dancing and far ming. Chief Akinwale, a member of the Unity Party of Nigeria, represents Lagelu- South Consti tuency of Oyo State, in the House of Represen tatives.
