UWECHUE, Hon. G. N.

Hon. G. N. Uweche who represents Aniocha Constituency in Bendel State was born on 30 November, 1938. Hon. Uwechue's elementary education began at St. Peters School in Ogwashi-Uku between 1944 and 1948. He was also a pupil at St. John's College (now Rimi College) in Kaduna from 1952 to 1957. Hon. Uwechue at tended the North Western Polytechnic in Lon don between 1961 and 1962. He later entered the London School of Economic and Political Science from 1962 to 1965. He was also admit ted to the Middle Temple in London and in 1965 Jie was also at the Nigerian Law School in Lagos. A private legal practitioner, Hon. Uwechue has LL.B. and B.L. Degree. Having once work ed with the First Bank Nigeria Limited (then Bank of West Africa Ltd.-,) between- 1957 and 1960, Hon. Uwechue was a moderator, commerical law (External examiner), during the Nigerian Bar Examinations in 1976 and 1977 respectively. Married with eight children, Hon. G. N. Uwechue who is the Deputy Leader of the NPP in the House of Representatives, also holds the chairmanship of the House of Representatives' Public Petitions Committee. He is also a member of the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives. Hon. Uwechue who is the author of some monographs especially those relating to the legal profession has travelled to the United Kingdom, France, West Germany and Ghana. He is keenly interested in reading.
