was born on 9th January, 1945, at Duhu in Gongola State. He is a devoted Muslim. He entered the Junior Primary School, Madagali in 1954 for two years the Senior Primary School, Michika (1957 - 1959) Provin cial Secondary School, Yola, (1960 - 1964), Federal Training Centre, Kaduna (1965 — 1966), Salesmanship Training, U.A.C. Lagos, (1974), and Management Training, GBO/UAC, Lagos in 1979. Mr. Medugu obtained his Secretarial Cer tificate in 1966, Salesman Certificate in 1974 and Management Certificate in 1976. He was a Senior Salesman in 1975 and a Sales Supervisor in 1976. He was with the U.A.C. as a Confidential Secretary until Oc tober, 1977 before he resigned to prepare for Politics in 1978. He married Azurfa in 1968, and they have six children. He was influenced early in life by his family. He has visited Cameroun and Tchad. He pioneered the introduction of political awareness into his District, the Madagali Local Government Area, Gongola State. His hobbies are reading and sports. He has published five articles. His father, Malam Nuhu Madugu, a farmer of Duhu village, has seven children. He is one of the three children of his mother, Mallama Marngayu. He is a member of the Great Nigeria People Party for Madagali Constituency, Gongola State in the House of Representatives.
