OGUNLEYE, Hon. J. A.

Hon. Ogunleye, a Unity Party of Nigeria member representing Akoko North Constituen cy, was born on January 10, 1931 in his home town Ikare. He attended the Jubilee Central School, Ikare from 1936 to 1943 and llesha Grammar School, llesha from 1946 to 1951. Hon. Ogunleye then read law at the College of Law, London and the University of London from 1964 to 1968 when he obtained the LLB (Lon don) degree. He was called to the Bar in 1971. Hon. Ogunleye worked in the Federal Audit Department and the Nigerian Railway Corpora tion, Lagos from 1952 to 1960. After obtaining his degree in Law he took up appointment as a civil servant at the High Court of Justice, Of ficial Solicitor's Department, Law Courts, Strand, London for two years before returning to Nigeria to enter the law School. He has been in private practice since he was called to the bar in 1971. A christian by faith, Hon. Ogunleye married former Miss Victoria Ajoke Wallace-Johnson. They have five children. His father, Chief Yusufu Ogunleye has 31 children and his mother is Mrs. Wuraola Ogunleye. The father is a farmer while his mother is a trader. Countries he has visited include the United Kingdom, Western Germany, France, and Switzerland. His hobby is lawn tennis.
