IWUAGWU, Hon. Jonas O.

was born in Umunkwo, Mbano, on November, 3, 1938. His father, late Honourable R. 0. Iwuagwu, a veteran politician who hailed from Umunkwu, has ten children. His mother, Mrs. Ekeoma Iwuagwu, a housewife, hailed from Atta, Mbaitoli in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State. His wife, Mr. Chineyre Iwuagwu, a teacher, was born on April 22, 1954. Both Mr. and Mrs. Iwuagwu have three children. His deceased father, no doubt, influenced him greatly in the field of politics. He attended elementary schools both at Onitsha and Ekwulaubia between 1941 and 1948. He was at St. Augustines' Grammar School, Nkwere from 1949 to 1953. He studied at the Inns' of Court School of Law, London between 1962 and 1966. He became a Barrister- At-Law (of the Middle Temple) in 1966.
