FAGBAMIGBE, Hon. Olaiya

Honourable Olaiya Fagbarrtigbe, a member of the Unity Party of Nigeria represents Akure Constituency, Ondo State, in the House of Representatives. A Roman Catholic by denomination, he was born on the 22nd of August 1928 at Akure, On do State. He attended the Sacred Heart's College, Akure between 1940 and 1945 and St. Augustine College, Akure from 1947 to 1948. Honourable Fagbamigbe has a Grade Two Teacher's Certificate and the GCE 'A' level in 4 subjects (1957 and 1958) and was a teacher from 1949 to 1960. He became the Secretary, Akure Town Planning Authority in 1961. He worked as a publishing representative from 1963 1973 and a Publishing director from 1974 - 1979. He got married in December 1962 to the former Miss Mercy Ebun Falana and they have seven children. His parents, Mr. Awolo Fagbamigbe, a farmer and hunter and Madam Ikubola Fagbamigbe, a trader, both at Akure, have eight children. He has visited the U.K., U.S.A., Italy and Western Germany. His hobbies are farming, writing, reading and jogging.
