Honourable Samson Adeola Shiyanbola was born on June 23. 1941, at Ede in Oyo State. He had his early education at the Baptist Practising School, Ede from 1949 - 1955, and higher education at the Baptist High School, Abeokuta, 1956-60; Baptist College, Iwo 1961-62; A and T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina; U.S.A. 1965-69; University of North Carolina, Greensboro 1969-70; Georgia State University, Atlanta, Ga, U.S.A. 197079; and at the Atlanta University Ga; U.S A 1972-76. He obtained his School Certificate in 1960, Grade II Teachers' Certificate, 1962; B.Sc. (Business Administration) 1969, M.Sc. (Business Administration and Economics) 1970. M.B.A. (International Business and Economics) 1972, D.B.A., (Ph.D., without Dissertation) in Psychology, 1976. Mr. Shiyanbola worked as a Teacher at the Baptist High School, Ede from 1963-65, as an Associate Professor of Economics, Morehouse College, Atlanta, U.S.A. from 1971-76, and as Assistant Secretary in the Nigerian Enterprises Promotion Board from 1976-78. He is a Christian by religion and his early life incluences are church services, Sunday School, Baptist Training Union and member ship of local clubs. He married Lydia and Kaliat and they have many children. he is one of the ten children of Mr. Jinadu Shiyanbola, a farmer at Ede and Mrs. Ashimowu Shiyanbola, a trader also from Ede. He has published articles on the "Problem of Inter-African Trade" in the Atlanta Economic Review of June 1972. Mr. Shiyanbola has travelled extensively to several countries like the United States, Britain, Canada, Mexico and the Virgin Islands. His'hobbies are lawn tennis, driving and social parties. He is a member of the U.P.N, andjrepresents Ede South Consti tuency, Oyo State in the House of Representatives.
