(NPP) was born in 1933 at Amuzi-Ikenanzizi Obowo in Etiti Local Govern ment Area. He was educated at St. Theresa's School, Ikenanzizi Obowo, 1939-45; Holy Ghost Teachers' Train ing College, Umuahia, 1953-56; Uni versity of Ife, De-Ife, 1966-67 and 1970-72; Nigerian Law School, Lagos, 1972-73. Mr. Ibe has the Teachers' Grade II Certificate, B.Sc. (Inter.) Econs. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.L. quali fications. He taught in several primary schools and colleges in Umuahia Dio cese fiom 1946-66 before proceeding to the University of Ife in 1966 to read law. After the Nigerian civil war, he went back to his legal studies and has been in private legal practice since 1973. Mr. Ibe was counciUor for Amuzi in the Etiti Local Government Council. 1976-79. He is the secretary, Nigeria Bar Association, Umuahia Branch. He is interested in soccer, lawn-tennis, reading and gardening. He is married. He believes in "Live and let live"
