IDRIS, Alhaji Yakubu

was born in 1949. He attended the Bashar Junior Primary School, Bashar between 1956- 61 from where he proceeded to com plete his Primary Education at the Pankshin Senior Primary School Pank shin, in 1963. Between 1967-71, he attended the School for Arabic Studies Kano, where he obtained his Teachers' Grade 11 Certificate. Two years later, he proceeded to the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello Univer sity, Zaria where he read and obtained a Diploma Certificate in Civil Law. Between 1971-72, Alhaji Idris headed the Bakin Rijiya and Kauran Wali Primary Schools in Wase L.G.C. Area, and Kaduna State respectively. He was a Court Registrar, Grade 1 Area Court Langtang in 1976. He resigned, con tested and won election into the Wase Local Government Council. He was the Chairman of the Council, until he later contested and won election into the Plateau State House of Assembly, as member for Bashar/Lamba Consti tuency. After only a few days in the House, he was appointed on October 9th, 1979 as Commissioner for Local Government and Community Develop ment. He is married to a wife, with a daughter.
