He had his education at Saint Joseph's Catholic School. Ibadan and at Ibadan Grammar Sch ool "He read classics at the then University College Ibadan and emerged as the institution s major scholar in Arts in 1955. The governor went to the United Kingdom the following year where he graduated in law from the University College London. He was called to the bar in 1958. He returned to Nigeria and set up a practice in 1961. Mr. Ige s political activities started while he was still at the University College. He was publicity secretary of the banned Action Group Youth Club.
