Group Captain Ihenachor is a Training Captain and Functional Check Pilot on DO 228/ • He conducts flight examinations for both NAF and Civil Pilot on behalf ofNigerian Civil Aviation Authority thereby uplifting the standard of pilots in Nigeria. • He developed the Check list for Flight Operations for the Dornier 228 Aircraft and presided over the evolution of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Disaster Reaction Unit (DRU) in support ol'the overall National Emergency Management plan for Nigeria Other Contributions to the Society • Ilas taken part several times in search and rescue operations in Nigeria. • OAU Peace Keeping in Chad, where he bagged an OAU Peace Keeping Award. • Air Lift Operations for ECOMOG • Resource Person for the UK Sponsored Bournemouth University Disaster Management Course Feb 2005 at Jaji Kaduna • Contact Person for the USA Defence Assistance Programme to Nigeria • Numerous national Military assignments • Apart of Nigerian Military Team that assisted Gambia to establish its military organisation • Fellow of Asian Pacific Centre for Security Studies Honolulu Hawaii • Attended various courses and seminars on Counter Terrorism • Attracted a lot of Community Sell"Help Projects to his community in spile of his being in the military. He is not detached from progressive programmes in the society, especially where his roots are based. Ilis connections have helped his immediate state to link up with an International Agency which is sponsoring HIV/AIDS Campaign. Group Captain O.F .Ihenachor is happily married with four children. Ilis hobbies include: Photography, jogging, cycling, reading and travelling.
