Mr. Abubakar Isa llyasu was born in 1947 in his home town, Isa, Sokoto State. He represents Isa Federal Constituency in the Assembly. After his primary education, he at tended Teachers' College where he obtained the Grade IITeachers' Certificate in 1970. He went to the College of Education between 1972-1975 for his N.C.E. and later attended Ahrnadu Bello University, Zaria for Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration. Mr. llyasu attended many short courses and has a certificate in management. He taught in both primary and secondary schools in his state before his appointment as Education Secretary, 1979-1989. He is married with eleven children and takes farming as a hobby.
