retired soldier, Commissioner for Industries, Coope ratives, Trade and Transport, Anam bra State; Born at Aguleri Anambra Division, September 24, 1932; Edu cation: primary schools at St. Jose ph's Aguleri, St. Anthony's Dunuko fia and St. Dominic's, Abatete, 193743; St. Charles' Teacher Train ing College Onitsha, 194649 obtained Teachers Grade II Certifi cate; enlisted in the Army, 1956; was trained in Ghana and UK and Com missioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, 1958- 59; participated in the Western Cameroon's internal uprising opera tions and in the same year, attended Regimental Signals course in the School of Infantry, Hythe, Kent, England, 1960; promoted lieutenant and took part in the UN Peace keeping Operations in the Congo, 1960-61; promoted captain 1961, was Aide-de-camp (ADC) to the Governor-General, 1961-62; went in for All Arms Battle Group Course, School of Infantry Warminster, Eng land; promoted major, and became Staff Officer and Deputy Adjutant- General, Headquarters Nigerian Army, 1963-64; attended British Army Staff College Camberley UK, 1965; promoted lieutenant colonel, appointed Command Secretary, East ern Command Nigerian Army, 1966- 67; was sole representative for Nige ria and Secretary Military Reconnais sance Committee, Organisation of African Unity (OAU), 1966;member Lagos Executive Development Board, 1886-67; member Nigerian Crimino logical Society, 1984; appointed Administrative Manager, Nigeria General Motors, Apapa, Lagos and General Manager, Modern Ceramics Industries Limited Umuahia, 1972; an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, had threemonth intensive Management Course at the Arthur D.LIttle Manage ment Education Institute Cambridge, Massachussetts, USA, 1974; awarded Independence Medal (military), United Nations (Congo) Medal (Mili tary); appointed East Central State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, 1975-76; became Anambra State Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Industries, Cooperatives, Trade and Transport; widely travelled, has visited many countries including Ghana, Cameroon, Sierra-Leone, Zaire, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Las Palmes, United King dom, France, Germany, Italy and USA; Married and has four children; Hobbies lawn tennis, light reading, musicj excursions.
