A briUiant surgeon, Dr. Kalu holds M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (London); MB; B.S. (London); F.R.C.S. (Eng.) F.M.C.S. (Nigeria); F.I.C.S. He was House Officer, General Hospital, Southampton, U.K. and University College, Ibadan; Medical Officer, General Hospital, Lagos, Senior House Officer, Hammersmith Hospital, post-graduate Medical School London; casualty officer, Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, United Kingdom; senior registrar, (surgery), University CoUege Hospital. Ibadan. consultant surgeon, Ministry of Health. Eastern Nigeria Government. Dr. Kalu retired as a chief consultant surgeon, Imo State, on July 1, 1978. He beUeves in "Service above self, welfarism and fairplay." He is married and has five children.
