MADUGU, Col. Josaf Sen-long (Rtd.)

was born at Shendam on 25th December 1942. He attended both Primary and Secondary Education at Kuru from 1953 to 1961. Thereafter, he proceeded to the Nigerian Military 4 Training College, Kaduna (March-Sep tember 1962) to be trained as Army Cadet Officer. Having received full Cadet and Young Officers Course in the Canadian Military Academy, he was Commissioned as 2nd Lietenant in September, 1963. In January, 1974, he attended the British Army Staff College, Camberiey, Surrey. Duringhis Military Career, Rtd. Col. J.S. Madugu held the following posts:- Platoon Commander, Battalion Intelligence Officer and Adjutant of 5th Battalion. ^ Other posts he held include Company Commander, General Staff Officer p Grade 111, Brigade Manjor, Acting General Staff Officer 1 (GSOI), 1st Infantry Division, Garrison Comman der and Commanding Officer of 120 Battalion, Makurdi. He commanded, Division (rear) and later became Assis tant Quarter Master-General, 1st Divi sion. (Rtd) Col. Madugu, also served in a number of Committees including "Kano Provincial Food Committee" for the Planning of Strategic Grains Reserve in 1965. Northern Region "Committee for the Evacuation and Resettlement of Displaced Persons" and a member of the "Leaders of Thought Committee" in 1966. His literary achievements include two pamphlets, namely: "Guide to Unit Administration and Discipline" and Guide to the Conduct of Young Officers." He is married with four children.
