He attended the Church Missionary Society Central School Oguta, 1937; St. Bartholomew's School, Enugu, 193741; Chief Ogbonnia is a building and Civil Engineering contractor and also managing director of ENCO Builders Ltd.; He was the president, East Central State Central State Council of Nigerian Chamber of Indigenous Contractors, 1973-76; president, Imo State Council of Nigerian Chamber of Indigenous Contractors since 1976; Chief Ogbonnia represented the then Government of Eastern Region as First Member on the National Committee for the Nigerianisation of Business Enterprises, 1964-66; He is married and has children; He believes in "humility in prosperity and perfect patience in adversity."
