He is not a new broom in politics for he was a very powerful force in the defunct Social Democratic Power (SDP) and a member of Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) before joining the People's Democratic Party (PDP) under whose banner he was appointed an Honourable Commissioner in the State.
