was born on January 2, 1937 at Afikpo town in Afikpo Local Government Area; He attended Government Primary School, Afikpo, Metropolitan College, Onitsha, University of Oxford, United Kingdom Centre for Labour and Social Studies, Rome, Italy; He has Cambridge Over seas School Certificate; G.C.E. Advanced Level; Post-graduate Diploma in Economics and Political Science (Oxon.); Post graduate Diploma in Labour Studies; and a Fellow of the Royal Economics Society (F.R. Econ. S. London); He was postal clerk and telegraphist, 1954-61; Prior to his election into the House, he was the African Regional Representative of the Geneva-based Postal, Telegraph & Telephone International. He is married and has children.
