He is fondly called "Agunechemba" which is his traditional title meaning the Tiger that keeps watch over the community". From his sprawling marble mansion in his country home in Ojota Lagos, his home town in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, he presides over a wide range oi' business organisations, political and philanthropic organisations. His business Head Office is in Lagos. Business Foundation • Started off at Aba in a modest way from a retail shop which he used to trade after school. There he met his wife (Former Miss Onwuamaegbu of Oba) both have happily lived together since then as husband and wife and are blessed with children • Now Chairman of Clcmco Group, the Umbrella Group for several vibrant Companies with strong presence in Oil. Energy. Manufacturing and Banking Sectors. Awards and Prizes • Winner of Dr Kwame Nkrumah African Leadership Award for Innovative Excellence in Telecommunications Service 2005 • Rel Tel Company, of Mr. Okonkwo has been declared Best Telephone Company of the year for 2003 and 2004 respectively. • The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in March 2004. named RelTel the Operator of the Best Customer Care Traditions in line with NCC High Expectations and Regulations. Breakthrough: RelTel recommended its effective brand success delivery process, which was punctuated in April 2005 by a mysterious fire incident at its Victoria Island switch. Reputed to have the cream of crack CDMA Engineers, the incident was reversed in a record of three days. Some weeks later, it began re-positioning delivery process and structures. His establishments have offered employment to many Nigerians irrespective of ethnic origin or religious affiliation.
