OKORO, Mr. Sunday Nwankwo,

was born in 1936 at Amogwu, Bende Town in Bende Local Government Area; He had his primary school education at the Assemblies of God Mission Primary School, Aba; He later went to St. Paul's Commerical College, Aba, and Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenegoa, Rivers State, where he obtained the West African School Certificate; On leaving school, Mr Okoro passed the General Certificate of Education at advanced level and as an external candidate; He has had a distinguished career in journalism; For some years, he was the editor of the Weekly Observer, Port Harcourt; Staff Correspondent, Daily Sketch Group of Newspapers, Ibadan; Staff Correspondent, Western Nigeria Broadcasting Service/television, Ibadan; Staff Cor respondent, The Nigerian Tribune, Ibadan and also national auditor for the Nigerian Union of Journalists; He is married and has four children; Mr. Okoro's philosophy is "not for self only but for others."
