He attended St. George's Primary School, Zaria from 1950-1956 and Nigeria Military School. Zaria from 1957-1962. His military career began with his enrolment into the cadet course Nigeria Military Training College Kaduna in 1962 and Pakistan Military Academy in 1962-1965. (The first senior under officer from Africa) His spotless military career spanned over 40 years and included such highlights as his rise to the rank of Air Commodore, first Nigerian instructor Air Faculty StaffCollege Jaji, President of foreign students United States Air War College Montgomery. Alabama USA (1989). He passed staff course with Dagger (PSC+), with such Military decorations as FSS (Forces Service Star) and CFR (Commander of the Federal Republic). Chief Dr Sampson Emeka also distinguished himself academically by obtaining such academic qualifications as B.Sc, M. Sc., Ph.D all in Political Science from the following institutions: Punjabi Universily, 1962-1965; Auburn Universily, Montgomery USA. 1988-1989; University of Lagos. 1992. Also at various times he had the following Military Courses, home and abroad: Cadet Course, Nigerian Military Training College Kaduna 1962: Pakistan Military Academy 1962-1965: Transport Officer's Course Shepherd Hill USA 1973: Fuel Management Course at Chanute Air Force Base 1975: Army Staff College. Jaji 1977-1978; Purchasing and Malerial Management Course at Command and Staff College Kaduna 1978; Junior Staff College/Director StaffCommand Course at the Royal Air Force College United Kingdom 1978-1979; Air War College Course, Montgomery Alabama USA, 1989. From a very humble background. Air Commodore Emeka Omeruah rose to an enviable height that should serve as a role model to others. One time Military Governor of old Anambra Slate, and one-time Federal Minister for information. Youth Sports and Culture (1984-1985). He was twotime Chairman Nigerian Football Association (NFA). First Vice President of West African Football Union (WAFU) 1993-1998. Little wonder he was named the best sports administrator in 1995. Under his guidance. Nigeria first qualified for the world cup. Won its first and only Olympic gold medal in Atlanta USA and Nigeria Falcons started their winnings as the African soccer champions. He vvas appointed the Chairman Presidential committee on Nigerian performance at the Alliens Olympic Games by the President. He was a member of National Political Reform Conference in Abuja. Omencc Industries Ltd His spirit of philanthropy is manifested in his deep and total commitment towards improving the lives of the poor in the society. In pursuit of this objective, he set up a Non-governmental Organisation Hope International. It is a prison ministry that had secured and paid for the release of over 105 inmates of the Ikoyi on awaiting trial (ATM). Hope international also regularly sends food items, clothings, pumping machines and other welfare packages to prisons to better the lot of inmates and actively involves itself in their rehabilitation. Air Commodore Omeruah is also the Chairman of Homeland Health Foundation, an NGO aimed al providing free and subsidized medical aid to the rural communities. He is also involved in the beggars and Hospital ministry MCN (Methodist church of Nigeria) Tinubu. He also prov ides scholarship to various indigent students from all over the country. Sir Omeruah is a Knight of John Wesley; He is presently the Conference Lay President Emeritus of Methodist Church Nigeria. Married to Lady Ngozi Omeruah. they are blessed with four children (Two Boys and Two Girls). Hobbies: Squash. Golf and Football Contributions towards Community Development In his immediate Community Nnono Oboro Ikwuano Local Government Area Abia Stale, he was actively involved in Bridge and Road Construction. Water. Electrification and Church building. He has as Role Models: Kwame Nkurumah and Dr. M. I. Okpara for their selfless service to humanity.
