(NPP) was born on April 4, 1929 at Umuaro in the Obingwa District of Obioma Ngwa Local Government Area. He was educated at Umuaro Community School, Wilcox Memo rial School, Aba; and Ladi-Lak Insti tute, Yaba where he obtained Govern ment Class IV certificate. As a soldier, Major Osuji attended Basic Infantry Training School, Teshie-Accra, 1941- 1948 as well as Administrative and Quartermasters' Course also at Teshie 1957-58. He rose to the rank of major before retiring after 36 years service in the Nigerian Army. He is married and has eight children. He plays tennis and hockey. His philosophy is love and kindness.
