Ugah, Akobundu Dike, Ph.D, the University Librarian was born on 24thNovember, 1958 at Ibadan. He hails from Amawom Oboro, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.
From Methodist Central School, Amawom Oboro where he started his school and got his First School Leaving Certificate in 1971, young Akobundu went through Evangel (Community) High School, Old Umuahia for his W.A.S.C (1976), University of Ibadan, Ibadan for a Diploma in Librarianship (1985), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for Bachelor in Library and Information Technology (1995), Imo State University, Owerri, for Master in Library Science (2004) and University of Uyo, Uyo for his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Library and Information Science (2009).
His robust work and research experiences span from 1986 to date, with him occupying various positions at various times, rising steadily from Library Officer, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, October 1986 – September 1988 through the ranks to the position of Deputy Librarian.
In the course of this, he also worked as Assistant Librarian (Academic) Librarian II and Librarian I all at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.Versatile Dr. Ugah has up to 30 publications to his credit, yet finds time for community service, golf playing as well as reading and writing.
He is a widower with 5 children.
