GUMMI, Hon. Aliyu

Hon. Aliyu Gummi was born in 1925 at Gummi in Sokoto State. He started his primary school education in 1931 at the Dongodaji Elementary Schoo!and finished up at the Sokoto Middle School in 1939. In 1940 Mr. Gummi went to the Bauchi Teachers' College from where he passed out in 1943 with a Teachers' Grade III Certificate. After this teachers training course, Hon. Gummi taught at the Anka Elementary School from 1943 to 1945 and at the Gummi Elementary School from 1946 to 1947. In 1948, he was made an Assistant headmaster of the Dange Primary School where he taught until 1949. He became the Headmaster of the Gummi Primary School in 1950. He was here until 1967 when he went for another course at the Sokoto Teachers College where he passed out in 1969 with a Teacher's Grade II Certificate.
