ALTI, Hon. Umaru

"Still pursuing, still achieving" runs a maxim. Nowhere is this assertion more applicable than to Hon. Umaru Alti's effort in fulfilling a per sonal ambition of becoming a politician. Born 1940, Hon. Umaru Alti hails from and represents Mashi Dutsi Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the National Party of Nigeria. Hon. Alti attended Mashi Junior Primary School from 1954 to 1958, and the Mashi Senior Primary School from 1959 to 1961. He gained admission into the Katsina Teacher's College in 1962 and graduated as a Grade Two Certificate teacher in 1966. Having successfully equipped himself with the Grade II certificate, Hon. Alti started off a career as a teacher. But after a period of teaching, he resigned in 1974 to engage in other pursuits.
