MOMODU, Hon. Zikaleni

In 1967, he became an Assistant Superintendent of Police and he was made Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1973. He held this post until his retire ment from the Police Force in 1977. During his service years in the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Momodu was not just confined to the home-base and to the every-day routine of a Police Officer. Rather, he was given special assignments both at home and abroad. In 1965, he had the privilege to.'serve as a member of the U.N. Peace Keeping Force in Congo Leopoldville (now Zaire) and from 1967 to 1970, he took part in the peace keeping operations in Nigeria during the civil war. For his meritorious service to the nations, Mr. Momodu was awarded various ^medals among which are the "Independence" medal, the "Colonial Police" medal, the "Federal Republic" medal and the "Long Service" medal. After his retirement from the Police Force in 1977, Mr. Momodu engaged himself in a small scale business which he did until 1979 when he became a Unity Party of Nigeria member of the House of Representatives from the Etsako Con stituency of Bendel State. A keen sportman and winner of one/three miles events between 1954 and 1962, Mr. Momodu is still keen on playing football, table tennis and reading novels. Hon. Momodu has visited London, Zaire and Ghana. A rnuslim by faith, Hon. Momodu is married and has nine children.
