(NPP) was born on April 27, 1946 at Eha- Amufu in Isi-Uzo Local Government was born on July 25, 1938 at Iji-Nike in Enugu Local Government Area. After his primary school education at St. Patrick's School, Ogbete, Enugu, be went to Stella Maris College, Port Harcourt and later studied at the Nigerian College of Arts Science and Technology, Enugu and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He holds B.A. (Hons) in Economics. Hon. Emehelu worked as Accounts Clerk, tutor, Vice Principal, Labour Officer and Com pany Manager before entering politics. He has travelled to Ghana and Congo and is basically socialist in outlook. He is interested in reading, writing and boxing. He is married and has one daughter. He is the Chief Whip of the Party in the House
