(NPP) was born on February 4, 1944 at Umukabi Umuhu Okwuato in Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area. He was educated at St. Gregory's School Umuhu Okwuato (1953 - I960), and Ngwa Technical School, Aba, (1962 - 1965). He holds the intermediate certificate of the City and Guilds, London, and a diploma certificate in engineering. He worked as supervisor in the Western Sudan Importers and Exporters, Kano, (1971 - 1972). He went into private business in December 1972 as aquantity surveyor and building contractor. He is married and has children.
