to be a good academic administrator and has served as the Head of Department severally at University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka from August 2004 – February 2005. He became the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Member, Governing Council of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, February 2005 – December 2008; Member, Governing Council, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, October 1998 – June 1999, October 2004 – date. From December 2008, he was appointed the Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University the position he holds till now. He also acts as the Chairman of Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian State Universities. On public administration, he has held several government positions among which is Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Member of Executive Council, Government of Anambra State of Nigeria, February 16, 1984 – January 31, 1986. He served as the National President, Nigerian Society of Agricultural Engineers (NSAE 1985 – 1999) He is married to Barrister Adeline A. Idike and has four children
