Senator (Dr.) Patrick Ayo Akinyelure, FCA, is a Chartered Accountant & Chartered Tax Practitioner by profession, a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN), and Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). He was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions. He was a member of the Senate Committee on Finance, Power and Steel Development, and the Committee on Public Accounts and ECOWAS Parliament of the 7th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was elected Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and represented the Ondo Central Senatorial District. He has demonstrated his professionalism in the areas of Revenue Monitoring & Generation, Lecturing at the professional level, Tax Consulting, Accountancy & Audit practice over the years before he was elected as a Senator representing Ondo Central at the Upper Chamber of the 7th National Assembly.
