Biography Entry: MHA, MP FIRST NORTHERN LAWYER, MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRANSPORT Alhaji Abdulganiyu Folorunsho was bom on November if, 1927 at Onitsha,present Anambra State. His early education were at Koranic Schools in Ilorin and Onitsha. He later attended CMS Central School, Onitshafrom 1938-43, Kalahari National College, Buguma, 1944-45 and African College, Onitsha, 1945A7. He was at the University of Ibadan, 194849, Trinity College, University of Dublin, 1949-54 and Inner Temple, London, 195155. He was called to the Bar in 1955 and was thefrrst Northern Nigerian Lawyer. Since his return to Nigeria, he had been a private Legal Practitioner. He was a special member of the Northern House of Assembly, 1960-62, Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Ivory Coast, 1962-64, member of the Federal Parliament, 1964-66, Federal Cabinet Minister of State for Transport, 1964-66, Kwara State Commissionerfor Finance and later Commissioner for Health and Social Welfare, 1967-72, member of the Capital Issues Commission, 1973-78, Chairman, Nigerian Council of Human Rights…
