the Shehu of Bornu's Representative for the education department. Later in 1947, he became the Provincial Education Assistant for Borno Province. Sir Kasbim acted as the Borno Provincial Education Officer on several times before he was promoted to the substantiverankin 1949. Sir Kashim's national political career dates back to 1946, when he was nominated as the special member representing education interests in the Northern House of Assembly. In 1950, he took part in the Constitutional Conference atlbadan, which led to the review of the Macpherson 's Constitution. He contested the election under the new Constitution in 1951 on the platform of the Northern Peoples' Congress and was then returned by the Northern House of Assembly to the Federal Houseof Representatives
