Mr Ipekweh John Ekong is a nominated member of the Assembly. He was born on September 19, 1945 in Calabar, but hails from Ibeno, in Akwa Ibom State. He attended Hope Waddel Training Institute, Calabar, from 1956-63; Ahmadu Bello Univer sity, from 1964—66; University of Lagos, 1968—69 and also University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, 1972-75. He was the Chairman of Assets Disposal Commit tee of the Nigerian Rubber Board in 1987.Mr. Ipekweh is a civil/structural engineering con sultant. He is a keen sportsman. He was a member of the Nigerian National Lawn Tennis team from 1969—74 and the West African University Lawn Tennis Champion in 1969 and 1971 - 72. He is married with three male children. His hobbies are reading, philosophy and sports.
