Societal Role Model award the Nigerian Tribune, August 2001; An active member of the proscribed Unity Party of Nigeria, 1979-83;. Adesina was a sponsor of Abiola Ajimobi in his successful bid to be elected to the senate for Oyo South in 2003. Later the two men fell apart, and Ajimobi moved to the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), but in October 2009 the two were leaders of the Action Congress (Nigeria) (AC) party in Oyo State, and had reconciled.
He was the president-general, Federation of Ibadan Students Union, 1964; Students
Representative, Council, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, 1964-65; Constituent Assembly,
1988. , 2002; A prolific writer and columnist. He has more than 800 articles to his credit through his column in the Nigerian Tribune:
